to submit proposals for multiple objects that can be in included in their mobile exhibition and project; Love Me, Live With Me.
The project will be at London Design Week, Design Event and possible further afield in early 2011. The exhibition will be housed in contemporary showcasing on the back on an antique market barrow that moves around .
The concept is that we will distribute the objects to the general public and that they will live with them for a week before submitting their thoughts to a blog and handing the object on. These objects will pass around the country creating a map of their route and relationships with their temporary owners as they travel. We will collect them back at a given point and subject to funding create an exhibition/publication of the used objects and the comments they collected along the way.
This is not a precious project, it is an experiment; an opportunity to interact with our audience and to ask questions via objects.
We are looking for artists, makers and designers to submit proposals for objects that will change peoples lives in some small way for the week that they live with them in multiples between 10-1000.
These objects/proposals will be selected on the questions that they ask and the thoughts that they might provoke. We hope to receive proposals for objects that might change the temporary owners world in some small way for the week that they are in possession of them, an alarm clock that wakes us with poetry, rose tinted spectacles, linked wine goblets for two ….over to you. The more diverse and dynamic our selection of objects is the greater the project will be. We would like a mixture of functional and non functional objects.
Designed and Made will pay artists fees and fabrication/material costs.
