Future Cultural Leaders Programme
July 21, 2010 15:31
Changemakers are young people who lead positive change in their world. Anyone can be a Changemaker. The Changemakers Foundation exists to discover, inspire, develop and connect Changemakers. We also clear their path in the world by influencing the culture of organisations and the direction of policy.
They are looking for young people aged 16 – 25 from Berwick, Northumberland and Scotswood, Newcastle looking for a challenge... our Future Cultural Leaders programme is seeking young people who would enjoy working in organisations that value a young person’s ideas and opinions.
Lots of organisations care what young people think and want to involve them in what they do. At Changemakers, they believe the best way to listen to and involve young people in organisations is to employ a Young Advocate for 10 days over 6 months and support them to advocate youth participation at their chosen organisation. This means that you will decide with the organisation what your work will look like and then you’ll complete a project to help the organisation improve how it works with young people like you.
There are eight paid opportunities to apply for. If you are not yet aged 16, they are also looking for creative young people aged 10 – 15 to get involved and help each young person on their project. For more information contact Eleanor Farrington on 0191 2267330 email Eleanor@changemakers.org.uk or visit the Changemakers website.
