Flex your
film-writing muscle
Talent can't be
taught, and storytelling is an instinctive skill, but screenwriting
is a craft and the more you practise any craft the better you'll
get. Exercise your screenwriting skills with The Script Factory's
Personal Trainers at Writers' Workout, a chance to hone your
dialogue writing, perfect your visual imagery and explore creative
writing techniques to add layers of meaning and depth to your
screenwriting. Click
here now to grab one of the few places left for the next
course on 19 & 20 November.
A big focus on the
small screen
If you haven't yet
booked for TV Forum on 12 & 13 November, now is the time
to get switched on to the small screen. Designed for writers who
have previously focused on writing for the big screen, this two-day
event offers a comprehensive overview of the current TV landscape
and explores the opportunities that exist for new writers to get
their name in the credits. TV Forum includes expert training as well
as the opportunity to hear from top guests, including Tony
Grisoni (Red Riding Trilogy and The Unloved) and
Kate Rowland, Creative Director of New Writing for Drama,
Entertainment and Children's programmes at the BBC. For the full
programme and details of how to book one of the few remaining
places, please click
here.
Writing for
Radio
In this world of
ipods and ear-plugs radio is on the rise and radio drama
particularly is flourishing. Offering an excellent opportunity for
writers to get their stories heard, radio scripts share similar
techniques to screenplays and it's very possible that a good idea
for a radio play by a first time writer can get commissioned. With
that in mind we're delighted to have fixed a new date for our
ever-popular Writing Radio Drama programme this autumn. Click
here now before it gets booked up again!
