Another recent NESTA publication, Everyday Innovation, examines the most important skills, characteristics and behaviours that promote employee innovation. The report finds that organisations across the private, public and third sectors are increasingly recognising that innovation is crucial to their productivity and effectiveness. But many struggle to make innovation a practical day-to-day reality.

Investments portfolio


Provision
NESTA invested in Provision in 2008 and it is due to launch the Axar package later this year. The package promises a better solution by connecting the Sky or Virgin set-top box in your living room to TV sets around the house using wi-fi.

Skimlinks
Skimlinks has received a £900,000 Series A funding round led by Sussex Place Ventures, NESTA, The Accelerator Group and business angels. Skimlinks automates the process of creating and maintaining affiliate links and enables publishers to link to relevant retailers and brands more easily.

Creative Credits

The second wave of 'Creative Credits', a NESTA programme that gives SMEs in the Manchester region the chance to apply for £4,000 worth of creative support, opens on 1 February. Successful applicants need to invest at least £1,000 and we top it up with £4,000 to spend with a local creative firm listed in our online gallery. In the last wave, 75 businesses out of the 331 that applied were awarded a Credit and a further 75 will be awarded in wave 2.
