Good Practice Guides <http://www.ifacca.org/goodpractice/> IFACCA has started compiling this range of 'good practice guides' to assist arts councils and arts funding agencies to review, inform and improve their key functions including: running grant programs, undertaking strategic activities (not directly related to grant giving), general management of arts funding agencies, and providing information to the arts community about marketing, governance, management, community engagement and advocacy. This 'good practice guides' section provides links to resources published by a wide variety of organisations including arts funding agencies, private foundations, commercial publishers and by IFACCA. The 'good practice guides' have been categorised into four sections: subsidies and grants; strategic activities and government relations; managing an arts funding agency; and information provision. These categories may be further refined as we add more resources and get user feedback You can send your feedback - and send any suggestions you have for additional resources - to info@ifacca.org Europe: Partner Searches Visit http://partners.culture.info <http://partners.culture.info/> to read the latest postings of people looking for partners - those added since the last Alert include: * FIT Literary Translation committee, a committee within the NGO, FIT, is seeking a partner for an event, in Paris, November 2010, to show how censorship impacts, or not, on the work of Jean Genet, around the world in 2010, his centenary year. The event will look at Genet's work through theatre and translation, highlighting the work of literary translators. The event also includes partners from Norway, UK, and France. The group welcomes partners from the area of Francophonie wishing to bring their own specific contribution to the event. * Central School of Speech and Drama (University of London) and the Escola de Clown de Barcelona are looking for a third project partner for a Co-operation Project (strand 1.2.1). The project seeks to draw on trans-European traditions and contemporary practices of clown and clown training, to make and tour a major new clown performance and to build professional clown training opportunities across Europe. * WSCC Arts Service is seeking partners to put forward a bid for Interreg 3 funding under Priority 3. The project aims at locating exciting and inspiring performance spaces in West Sussex for outdoor performance companies to use. The project would like to echo the Creation Centre projects in France, by making our own Creation Centre in West Sussex. These projects will be next entered into a database website which companies can use to contact venue/space owners and make connections with other companies. And also: * The British Council in Croatia is urgently seeking up to six UK organisations, active in the area of intercultural dialogue, migration, or minority issues, who might be able to host short study visits for Croatian participants on the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci, during June, July or August 2010. The participants are involved in the British Council's Intercultural Navigators project and the purpose of the UK visits is to give them an opportunity to understand the various ways in which diversity and intercultural dialogue are addressed by various institutions and organisations in the UK through the direct experience of short working attachments. Participating organisations are requested to mentor participants through programme of activities agreed with the British Council, and provide feedback after the visit. The British Council Croatia will cover all travel and accommodation costs for the visits, and will conduct "cultural briefings" with the participants in order to prepare them for their time in the UK.
