Liverpool Design Festival 2010 - The Design Show: Call For Entries Announcement


  The Liverpool Design Festival was launched in November 2009 as a new annual design and contemporary craft festival in Liverpool. The 2010 Festival, building on the success of the previous year's events, celebrates and promotes quality design, encouraging an appreciation of craft and design by the widest possible audience, providing opportunities for participation, particularly by young people, in design and artistic appreciation whilst also supporting new and emerging practitioners.

The Liverpool Design Festival will run from the 19th November to 28th November 2010.

The Design Show will be the signature event of the Festival and aims to showcase the best in contemporary design from the North West and the rest of the UK. It will present a selection of exciting and inspiring interior products, glass, ceramics, furniture, lighting, jewellery, textiles and fashion and will run from 19th to 21st November 2010.

The Design Show will take place at the Grade 1 listed St. George's Hall in the city centre of Liverpool. The Call For Entries application pack will be available in March and you'll be able to download that from our website www.liverpooldesignfestival.com soon. If you want a pack emailing to you please email Frank Collins frank@designinit.org.uk with your contact details and the pack will be emailed or posted to you as soon as it is ready.

The deadlines for applications and price points:
Apply before May 31st and if you're selected you'll qualify for the Early Bird Offer of a standard shell scheme of 3m x 1m at £250 plus £50 per additional square metre required.

We welcome applications from group exhibitors and stand sharers conditional on all exhibitors on the stand being successfully selected by the panel.

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair - Call for Entries


  The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, a three day event with a preview evening and awards ceremony, will be held between 21st-24th October 2010.The event will take place in a purpose-built hard-sided pavilion situated in Hardman Boulevard, Spinningfields, Manchester. Spinningfields is the city's new rapidly growing business quarter and is home to some of the city's leading financial and legal companies.

The event will provide an excellent opportunity to sell and promote your work to a new audience of buyers and collectors Exhibition stands from £360 ( 2mx1.5m); shared applications from two makers welcome

Northern Creatives - a T-Shirts and Suits Project


  Northern Creatives is a new T-Shirts and Suits project with a series of events to help connect creative companies in Yorkshire with potential partners in the North West. These free workshops will discuss the business issues involved in creating profitable collaborations and also provide networking opportunities. The first dual-location interactive events will link businesses in Yorkshire and the North West using the Media Access Bureaus (MABs) of the NorthernNet high-speed telecommunication infrastructure located in Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, and MediaCityUK in Salford.

BOOST FOR STOCKPORT'S CREATIVE INDUSTRIES


  Creative industries in Stockport have been given a boost thanks to a new programme of FREE events aimed at improving business links and networking.

Originally established in 2007, the network gives local businesses an opportunity to meet up and participate in talks and discussions.
This year's activities will include some new features. As well as the familiar evening events featuring guest speakers, informal coffee mornings and professional masterclasses will also be added to the programme.

The season of events kicks of at the Hatworks Museum on Wellington Road South, Stockport on March 9th (6pm - 8.30pm) with a discussion on collaboration as a means to growing business. The evening will feature two guest speakers: Liz Birkbeck, founder of Millco - a multi-disciplinary 'virtual mill' of designers, photographers, copywriters and branding experts, and Simon Grennan - one half of international artist duo Grennan and Sperandio.

Creative Tenants needed for great space in Liverpool


  The Ranch is looking for 3 artists / writers / designers / creatives to join their collective space of independent artists, film-makers, educators and digital cowboys. They share a lovely open bright city centre space in an old building full of other bizarre creative pioneers, with 24 hour access.

Current rent for a desk £110 pcm (includes space, electric, internet, cleaning and communal spaces such as meeting space, kitchen. This price may be reduced if the spaces are filled quickly. Decisions are made as a group; creative sharing and technical support is nurtured through a culture of tea making and good humour. Great for creative freelancers who are going mad working from home and need somewhere conducive to work but also friendly and sociable.
